Just in case you were foolishly questioning the inimitable abilities of one Angelina Jolie, fate has intervened to unearth footage of the increasingly great multihyphenate flexing her late 90s acting muscles in a class presumably full of people who would not go on to become Angelina Jolie. The video, supposedly uncovered by the Daily Mail, was reportedly filmed less than a year before Jolie landed an Academy Award for her unfuckwithable performance as Winona Ryder's fellow charismatic mental institution inmate Lisa Rowe in the confirmed cinematic banger Girl, Interrupted.
The can't-look-away trailer for By the Sea, Jolie's next obvious Oscar contender, showed up online last month to the roaring applause of presumably everyone. Jolie wrote and directed the atmospheric relationship drama, casting her IRL significant other Brad Pitt as her character's husband. Speaking to the Directors Guild of America ahead of the trailer's release, Jolie expressed her insistence on helming the project herself:
"The idea that somebody would take it and interpret it — and possibly interpret it the wrong way — scared me. So by default, I chose to direct it myself."
By the Sea is set for release on November 13.
