Earlier this week, Emilia Clarke briefly shattered the Game of Thrones portion of the internet by seemingly critiquing its tendency toward highly tweetablesex scenes. "Sex scenes should be more subtle," Clarke was quoted as saying. "I'm British, so I cringe at that sort of thing anyway. I can't stand it. I don't want to have sex thrown in my face and I've always thought the suggestion is so much more titillating than the act itself. Most sex scenes you see in films or on TV are gratuitous and they're usually just to attract an audience."
After her remarks were given a worldwide publicity tour, Clarke decided to clarify her intentions via Instagram:
This would appear to be the debut of the "like a good Mother of Dragons" catchphrase, a lovely combination of letters that should soon take over the world.
