Fourteen years after the attacks on 9/11, we continue to commemorate the lives lost during the terrible events of that day. Yet 14 years removed from the unspeakable tragedies of that day and we are still learning about went on September 11, 2001. Today the US National Archives is giving us a closer look by releasing over 300 never-before-seen photos of then-President George Bush and his administration, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, and Secretary of State Colin Powell, as they planned a response to the the attacks. 

Cheney watches reports on the World Trade Center attacks. Reportedly Bush administration officials weren’t sure if the plane crashes were deliberate and with different outlets reporting different information officials turned to CNN to find information the White House hadn’t received yet at that point in time.
