Unlike Bonnaroo or Coachella, Lollapalooza is a music festival that doesn't require a neo-hippie, let's-get-back-to-the-land attitude. You don't camp; you get to shower. You're in downtown Chicago, in Grant Park, and there's an entire city to explore when you leave the festival grounds. So, instead of joining a drum circle in a firefly forest with the great unwashed masses of Tennessee, you can, you know, drink cocktails and eat deep dish. Score.
Still, Chicago is a big city and unless you've got a friend to guide you, you'll need some help. Which is where Complex News summer correspondent Marianna Hewitt comes in. She's got five of the most necessary spots to have a robust Chicago stay
And if you're interested in stunting during your music festival experience (or even your neighborhood block party or a dope outdoor show in your city), you might as well get something for the effort. This summer, Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey is giving away tickets to next year's Lollapalooza, in 2016, through the Summer Swarm contest. Head over to the website and find out how to win. (If you've got a camera and a willingness to have fun while listening to live music, you're halfway there.)
