A two alarm fire hit Las Vegas strip hotel The Cosmopolitan.

According to the Clark County Fire Department’s website, firefighters responded to the call at 12:16 p.m. PT.

The fire department says trees and pool cabanas around the Cosmopolitan’s pool were on fire. Clark County spokeswoman Sandra Baker says she received a preliminary report that the fire had been extinguished and were making sure that it had not spread into the building.

Update 07/25/15 4:28 p.m. ET: One person has been transported to the hospital after the fire, says the Clark County Fire Department.

A witness described the Bamboo Pool fire at the Cosmopolitan as spreading “ridiculously fast” to the Las Vegas Sun. The fire reportedly engulfed half of the poolside cabanas in less than a minute as guests scrambled to safety. The area was quickly evacuated as well as several floors of the hotel.

The witness, who was on the Bamboo Pool deck at the time, said Cosmopolitan employees believe a cigarette started the fire. They think a cigarette may have been thrown from one of the hotel’s top floors or that it was thrown away by a pool guest into a pool deck bush.

Update 07/25/15 5:04 p.m. ET: Firefighters have put out the fire.
