Heroes Reborn really wants to win you over. After their entirely forgettable first trailer dropped (seriously, what was that?), and the confusion and disappointment over how the show would tie-in to the original (read: it might not), things weren't looking so hot for the NBC fall drama, which premieres September 24.

But writer Tim Kring thinks that fans should give it a chance. "We've had a long rest and a good night's sleep and we're ready to save the world again, so if you found something about the show that you loved, something that you were passionate about the first time, then I very humbly ask you to give Heroes Reborn a chance," he said on a panel at Comic-Con this afternoon.

The new three-and-a-half-minute trailer features old, loveable faces like Jack Coleman, Masi Oka, and Sendhil Ramamurty, so maybe it's not going to be so terrible. The plot still isn't totally clear, but it looks like trouble for evolved humans.

"We left with Claire Bennett exposing these powers to the world, her coming out, so now everyone knows about these powers," said Kring. "The entire world knows about these powers and it’s not such a good thing."

But really, Kring wants you to take a chance on their new show. Watch the extended trailer above.

#HeroesReborn will be "very true to the mythology and the core canon of the show. We aren't deviating from anything." - Tim Kring #sdcc
