Local emergency crews are currently responding to the sudden collapse of a four-story building in Brooklyn. Though no one was reported as inside the premises during the collapse, at least one injury due to falling debris has been confirmed. The building was apparently under demolition, though Tuesday's collapse was sudden and not a part of the general demolition process.
Adjacent buildings at 1440, 1442, and 1444 Fulton Street are now being evacuated by the FDNY. According to Pix 11 News, the building collapsed suddenly around 2:30 p.m. Firefighters and additional emergency responders are currently searching through the rubble to ensure no one was inside the building when it fell.
More to come.
