Anyone with even just a cursory knowledge of current events is certainly no fan of police officers, especially given the renewed focus on brutal policing tactics all across the country. As the necessity for the demilitarization of law enforcement continues to escalate, the public's opinion of state and local police continues to rightfully deteriorate.

Though a short video like the one above (captured during the NYC Pride parade on Sunday) certainly doesn't change any of that, the brief moment of respite offered through a genuine shared reaction to the Supreme Court's historic ruling on marriage equality is indicative of the potential power of a more empathetic approach to law enforcement.

Of course, NYPD officers have previously been suspended for similar activity. However, one can hope the video above inspires no such consequences.
