This Half-Eaten Dolphin Might Turn You Off of Beaches for the Summer

A woman named Karissa Kerns decided to spend her Saturday at a New Jersey beach with her family, likely expecting a day full of joy illuminated by the sunlight. Instead they were met with a graphic reminder of the fragility of life in the form of a half-eaten dolphin washed onto shore. The poor sea friend joined the beach party with his lower half missing and a clear bite mark exposing his innards. Expectedly, children were horrified.

Kerns toldNBC 10:

The lifeguard flipped it over and you could see a shark had grabbed it and chomped right out of it. You could see the teeth marks and everything. Its spine was completely severed. It wasn’t a full-sized dolphin and it wasn’t a baby dolphin, it was mid-sized. At that point my mom took my son away quick because he was freaked out about it.

And that, friends, is why we encourage staying away from the beach this summer. And while you're at it, you may as well stay inside, too. You'll only be exposed to the horrors of the world on the Internet instead of right there in your face with shredded flesh.
