This story just begs the question, was CNN anchor Fredricka Whitfield even paying attention to what she was saying when she said the gunman who attacked a Dallas police headquarters was "very courageous and brave"?

Also, what was going through that guy's mind when she said it, and how did he just continue on with the interview like it never happened?

It seems like maybe Whitfield was trying to call the gunman's actions "ballsy" or something along those lines, but who knows really. Whitfield and CNN have yet to make a statement.

Meanwhile, some people are pissed.

@CNN & @FWhitfield should apologize immediately for this outlandish commentary in the #DallasPDShooting https://t.co/Z3a68Kk2va

UPDATE: Whitfield apologized on Sunday during her show for the "brave" comment.

“I misspoke, and in no way believe the gunman was courageous, nor brave,” she said.
