Today, the Internet collectively freaked out over a rumor that Homer and Marge Simpson, America's most beloved couple, would legally separate in the upcoming season premiere. We knew that Lena Dunham would make a cameo on the show as far back as January, but today we learned from the show's executive producer Al Jean that she would play Homer's pharmacist and he would fall in love with her.

That would literally be devastating, but fear not—things may not be as bad as they seem. The official Simpsons twitter shared this photo today, of Bart looking pissed about the rumors spreading about his parents. They captioned: "RT and stop the rumors!" The account also shared this tweet, touting the couple's eternal love (mysteriously, in español):

Apparently responding to the widespread panic, Joel also came forward and released a statement to the Wrap that makes it sound like everything is going to be OK (maybe):

"I didn't say Home and Marge are breaking up. I said they are bigger than Jesus."

Huh? What does it mean? I don't know, but if the executive producers doesn't seem to be worried about, I'm not either. ¡Arriba!
