Brian Williams conspiracy theories are a thing, right? Ever since Jim Carrey confronted other NBC employees regarding the whereabouts of Brian Williams in the wake of his increasingly unflattering lie / exaggeration / brain tumor scandal, I've often wondered the same. Where's the great American peacock hiding our fallen hero and what do they plan to do with him?

Turns out, they either plan to keep him as part of the NBC family or send him off with a $30 million handshake. According to a report from CNN's Brian Stelter, surely annoyed NBC executives are actively brainstorming ways to retain Williams in some capacity. Stelter's report claims that fresh NBC chairman Andrew Lack is quite fond of this option, even referencing anonymous inside sources who claim that Lack has called several employee meetings for the sole purpose of "thinking creatively" about a new position for Williams.

On the other end of the post-scandal spectrum, some are claiming that Williams will take the more traditional route — i.e. leave the network entirely, with $30 million of his original $50 million contract. Either option, of course, is coupled with the harsh revelation Williams must eventually face — he never took the advice of fellow NBC fictional character and chronic exaggerator George Costanza, who once famously stated "It's not a lie if you believe it."
