Tony Hawk is coming back to the world of video games. According to GameInformer, Activision has announced that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 will be out later this year for Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Shortly after that, last-gen versions will come out for PS3 and Xbox 360.

GameInformer writes that the name Pro Skater 5 is obviously a callback to the original four video games in the series, when the Tony Hawk franchise was really at the height of its game. (The last game in the series, Proving Ground, came out in 2007—although there was talk of a mobile-exclusive video game last year.) Here's hoping it stacks up.

Here's what we know about Pro Skater 5 so far:

  • GameInformer says the "finely tuned gameplay" we knew and loved from the Pro Skater series will be back, along with something called "power-ups" and the ability to shoot "projectiles."

  • Levels will have specific "objectives and missions," and you can create your own skateparks to be shared with other players.

  • Of course, you'll be able to play solo or with others in co-op or competitive play modes.

  • Tony Hawk will be a playable character, along with skaters like Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk, Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzales, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds.
