A 14-year-old boy was shot and killed in the Bronx yesterday morning, authorities say.

The New York Daily News reports that a gunman shot Christopher Duran multiple times yesterday morning following an argument. Duran was reportedly on his way to school with his younger brother at the time:

Police said he was felled by three shots to the upper body and one to the head at 8:25 a.m. during a confrontation on Sheridan Ave. near E. 167th St. in the South Bronx.

Oh my God, oh my God, my son! Duran’s mother cried out as she raced to the crime scene.

Police told the Daily News that footage of the shooting exists, describing it as "pretty gruesome":

We have video of the shooting, a police source said. It’s bad, real bad. The guy runs up to him and just shoots him, bang, bang, bang. It doesn’t look like he says anything to him.

What's more, police are reportedly investigating the possibility that the shooting was gang-related:

But investigators suspect Duran’s killer may have been exacting revenge for something his 18-year-old brother — a reputed member of the Bronx-based 280 gang — did, sources said.
