The Guardian has obtained a recording of Michael Slager speaking to a senior officer following Slager's murder of an unarmed black man. During their conversation, the senior officer suggests that Slager wait for his adrenaline to level out before documenting his thoughts and feelings. In response, Slager laughs and — referring to that adrenaline — says "Oh, it's pumping."
Disturbingly, this news is at once egregiously unsettling and sadly aligned with exactly what you might expect from a police officer who shot five rounds into the back of an unarmed black man named Walter Scott earlier this month.
