After Sony Pictures realized Andrew Garfield was not the way and watched The Amazing Spider-Man 2 tank at the box office, the studio decided to team up with Marvel to revamp the franchise and work on the sixth movie together. They've brought on blockbuster legend Kevin Feige as a producer, which is bound to be good for them. They're really making a good faith effort to get things right—but maybe all they need to do is go old-school. At Cinemacon, film executive Tom Rothman announced that Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the guys behind The Lego Movie, are working on an animated Spider-Man film.

According to Deadline, Lord and Miller will "conceive [the movie] with an eye to direct it." The dynamic duo, who have worked together since they met at Dartmouth University, have more than proven their ability to work together and produce comedic excellence—they wrote and produced The Lego Movie and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and directed 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street

The dudes are also working on all the upcoming Lego Movie spin-offs, like The Lego Batman Movie, The Lego Movie Sequel, and Ninjago, which is a movie about ninja legos. (Get it?)
