Cult comedy Galaxy Quest has just been tapped to become a TV series, following in the footsteps of the very show it parodied: Star Trek.
Galaxy Quest starred Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, and Alan Rickman da gawd a.k.a. Severus Snape, among others, as retired actors of a popular sci-fi show that get abducted by aliens and are tasked with saving the planet, much like their fictional characters.
Returning for the series adaptation are Quest’s original writers, director Dean Parisot, and executive producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein, who have recently worked on Breaking Bad, Rectify and Better Call Saul.
