Yesterday, the U.S. Coast Guard presented a 14-ton cocaine seizure at a dock in San Diego. Officials are touting it as part of a record-setting group of recent eastern Pacific Ocean drug seizures.

According to the Associated Press, the haul was part of 19 different seizures made by authorities in the U.S. and the Royal Canadian Navy. Overall, it's valued at $424 million, and the Coast Guard told CNN that an individual bust recovered over 10 tons of cocaine from coastal freighter, constituting the largest drug seizure made in the area since 2009.

The Associated Press adds that, in the past six months, law enforcement in the U.S. and Canada have taken upwards of 28 tons of cocaine worth $848 million from the area. Authorities have reportedly called it the most successful string in over five years. During that time, 101 arrests were also made.
