The image above looks like it’s a screenshot from an old Mario game or something. But it’s actually a real photo of actual Lego model, perfectly mimicking the pixel art of classic Nintendo games.
Since old NES games were really blocky, it makes sense that you could recreate it in Lego. But Japanese Twitter user Ryusen takes it to the next level. He creates incredible flat pieces which take into account the shading of the original sprites, that almost look “photorealistic” (if something that was originally computer generated can be described that way).
These greyscale models are like original Game Boy graphics.
