"Morning Joe" Hosts Blame SAE's Racist Chant on Hip-Hop

Rap is always to blame.

A quick search on Rap Genius reveals the lyrics to the Oklahoma SAE chapter's racist chant weren't written by any rapper. In reality, the song set to the tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It" was passed down from SAE brothers for God knows how long. Yet the hosts of Morning Joe weren't concerned with factual attribution during a painfully stupid segment blaming rappers for the racist behavior caught on tape.

Mika Brzezinski took issue with Waka Flocka Flame's CNN appearance to discuss his canceled performance for SAE. She called his music—"every single song, I guess you call it"—"garbage" filled with the n-word and f-bombs before dropping her own idiot bomb. "He shouldn't be disgusted with them," Brzezinski said. "He should be disgusted with himself."

That's right. Waka Flocka shouldn't be disgusted with a group of privileged white kids who would rather see a black person lynched before joining their fraternity. He should be disgusted with himself for having a potty mouth.

Not to be outdone, her co-host Bill Kristol chimed in with, "Popular culture becomes a cesspool, a lot corporations profit off of it, and then people are surprised that some drunk 19-year-old kids repeat what they’ve been hearing."

We must have missed the racist chant on the Billboard Hot 100.

Watch the entire segment above, and try not to let it ruin your day before it has a chance to start. At least Willie Geist has some common sense.
