Leonardo DiCaprio is helping Adrien Grenier discover a rare, unnamed sea creature. This isn't the plot to a new movie with the two; it's the result of Leo's $50,000 donation to Grenier's Lonely Whale Kickstarter campaign. The sizeable last-minute contribution pushed total donations over the $300,000 goal.

Grenier, serving as producer, and director Josh Zeman will make a documentary while searching for a whale known only as "52 Hertz" for its low-frequency calls. The sound is out of other whales' hearing ranges, leading the whale to travel alone. Sonar equipment discovered the whale by sound in 1989, but no one has ever actually seen the creature.

This documentary hopes to change that.

For his efforts DiCaprio is the sole person to get the $7,500+ package, which includes a whale watching experience with Grenier. Travel accommodations aren't included, however, so Leo better save up.
