Jon Stewart: Ted Cruz Is a Legit Joke

Jon Stewart Mocks Ted Cruz on 'The Daily Show'

Jon Stewart, doing what Jon Stewart does best, made a mockery of Senator Ted Cruz's announcement to run for president in 2016 last night on The Daily Show. Cruz addressed an unlucky group of students at Liberty University to make it official Monday where he practiced waving and awkwardly kissing his wife before the speech.

“I may owe Mitt Romney an apology,” Jon Stewart said.  “Even the Mitt Romneytron 3000 didn’t have to rehearse waving and kissing.”

The students shown in the crowd looked so bored that they'd probably rather be doing homework than listening to the mandatory speech. Cruz asked the audience to break a rule... take out their cell phones and text "constitution" to the number 33733. Stewart then pointed out Cruz's ironic and juxtaposing messages.

"Let me clarify this a little bit: Students at Liberty University were required to attend a partisan political speech where a small-government conservative who had just promised he would respect privacy rights, told them if they cared about freedom, text your information to a mysterious address that collects your cell phone number for undisclosed purposes.”

That's not the only ironic thing about the first major presidential candidate. Have you ever noticed how his campaign logos look like an upside down burning American flag?
