Jackass first aired on April 12, 2000, and 15 years after its premiere, the show continues to have an impact on pop culture. Numerous successful spinoffs, six feature films, and a variety of other projects have kept the prank show and its wild cast at the center of the culture for well over a decade. Their most recent feature film, Bad Grandpa, took in over $100 million domestically, and rumor has it that another Jackass film is in the pipeline.

Many of the show's cast members have gone on to have careers beyond Jackass. Some of the group's legendary pranksters have moved on to making films, producing television shows, forming bands, and starting businesses. They continue to make their mark in various and sundry corners of pop culture. There is also a dark streak to the legacy of many of these wild men. It seems that more than a few of them have had trouble keeping their crazy antics onscreen. Drug abuse, arrests, and personal demons have plagued the careers of more than a couple Jackass alums.

With the 15th anniversary of Jackass less than a month away, let's take a look the cast of characters that brought the ball hitting, shit slinging, bone breaking world of Jackass to life. Here is Everyone on JackassRanked.

45. Ehren McGhehey

Not Available Interstitial

On Jackass: Unlike most of the Jackass team, who knew each other from CKY (the precursor show to Jackass, where Bam Margera and other cast members performed stunts and skate tricks), McGhehey was recruited by director Jeff Tremaine to join the team after Tremaine saw videos he made while working at a skate shop in Portland. His most popular bits were the "Terror Taxi" skit and his attempt to play "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" IRL.

Life after Jackass: After Jackass came to a close, McGhehey operated a skate shop in his hometown, which he closed down in 2013. He has since started a career as a photographer. He has also appeared in several small roles on Portlandia.

Greatest Hit: While playing an offensive character, McGhehey has the tables turned on him and learns he's been wearing a pube beard.

He became a pop culture icon during Jackass's heyday with his publicly nude "Party Boy" character.

36. Brandon Novak

Not Available Interstitial

On Jackass: Novak was known as "Nudie Novak" due in part to his promiscuity and in part to his love of walking around bottomless. He appeared in many bits that involved odd twists on skating that resulted in personal injury, including skating on belt sanders and sledding down stairs.

Life after Jackass: Though Novak has been involved in some interesting and fruitful projects post-Jackass, his struggle with heroin addiction has cast a dark cloud over his career. He wrote the book Dreamseller (well received by audiences, but viewed as middling by critics) about his experiences, but relapsed, was institutionalized, and served some jail time after the book's release. He was arrested again recently following an incident in Ocean City, Maryland in 2014.

He has referred to himself as the "world's first professional shitter."

Life after Jackass: England continues to make comedy videos. One of his most amazing recent pranks was setting up and living in a tent at a busy Tokyo intersection

33.

Some of his best remembered daredevil antics involved being flung around in a shopping cart and slingshotted while in a wheelbarrow. His cast mates also remember him as the kind of guy who would "do anything" for a friend.

Life after Jackass: In the years following Jackass's prime, Dunn appeared in a few acting roles and projects tangentially related to Jackass. The next chapter of his career was cut short when he died in an automobile accident likely caused by his drunk driving and operating his car at unsafe speeds. It has been reported that Mastodon's Brent Hinds will play Dunn in an upcoming film directed by Bam Margera.

His storied career has come with a physical price. He told the L.A. Times he estimates that he's had 100 concussions.

Life after Jackass: Though he was a minor player on Jackass, the show is just a small chapter in what has been an eclectic life in the arts. Fall was in the '90s pop punk band Wax (here's one of their videos directed by Spike Jonze), and he continues his solo work as a musician to this day. He contributed music to Mallrats and Biodome and has served as a studio musician for country and rock artists. Fall is also known to display his artwork at L.A. area gallery shows.

15. Steve-O

Not Available Interstitial

On Jackass: After sending videos to Jeff Tremaine until he was hired for the Jackass team, Steve-O became one of the show's breakout stars. Among this group of fearless pranksters, Steve-O consistently found a way to be the most outrageous, leading to multiple arrests and serious bodily harm. Over the years, he's had a fish hook in his cheek, insects sting and bite him, and been hit in the nuts more times than you can count.

Life after Jackass: Steve-O has continued his wild antics and his tendency to run afoul of the law (our favorite is his defacing Sea World signs, though not all of his arrests have been so funny). He has also found a way to make some serious bank. He has launched his own shoe company, written a memoir, hosted two television shows, and released a rap album. Steve-O also tours as a stand-up comedian.

His memoir has received 103 5-star Amazon reviews and this one oddly bitter 1-star review.

Steve-O has used his influence for good, involving himself in animal right's activism. He has taken stands against Sea World, Ringling Bros. Circus, and factory farming.

Like several of his Jackass colleagues, he has struggled with substance abuse. He is also dealing with mental health issues. He has maintained sobriety for more than half a decade.

Greatest Hit: The "Poo Cocktail Supreme" skit.

On Jackass: Not only is Knoxville the face of Jackass, but he also helped develop and pitch the project along with Jeff Tremaine, Sean Cliver, and Dave Carney. With the help of Spike Jonze, the team sold the pilot to MTV. Since then, the charismatic Knoxville has been at the center of Jackass's enduring success.

Life after Jackass: Though he has continued to be involved in Jackass-related projects through the years, Knoxville has had a pretty significant (if not necessarily critically acclaimed) acting career in his own right. Dukes of Hazzard, Men in Black II, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are just a few of his over three dozen projects. He continues to work consistently as an actor and has three projects already slated for 2015 according to IMDB.

Knoxville also has a stake in two production companies. One, Dickhouse Pictures, in which he partners with Spike Jonze and Jeff Tremaine, produced The Birth of Big Air and The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia, which are both acclaimed documentaries.
