During the opening night of PaleyFest in Hollywood, a Q&A with Homeland star Claire Danes and showrunner Alex Gansa lead to some major details being unveiled about the upcoming fifth season. According to Gansa, the timeline of the show will leap two and a half years into the future and will be filming across Europe, specifically Germany. The biggest WTF reveal: Danes' character Carrie Mathison is no longer an intelligence officer.
While Gansa did his best not to spoil any secrets or significant twists, the conversation touched on how European terrorism will influence the direction of the show, as well as the blossoming love affair between Carrie and colleague/assassin Quinn. More details will surely emerge as the premier date approaches. But this info alone means that the season will be as unpredictable as ever.
Homeland season 5 is guaranteed to pack a punch. And lots of Cry Face.
