Health officials have declared the Florida man who threw his daughter off a bridge earlier this year mentally unfit to stand trial.
John Jonchuck, 25, of Tampa, Fla. was charged with first-degree murder, among other offenses, in January after after throwing his 5-year-old daughter, Phoebe, from a bridge over Tampa Bay. According to the Associated Press, doctors ruled that Jonchuck, who has a history of mental health issues, was incompetent to be tried for his daughter's death.
The Associated Press adds that, should court rulings align with doctors' findings, Jonchuck would be relegated to six months in a hospital before appearing in court again.
