Investigators want to know if texting was a factor in a multi-vehicle crash involving Bruce Jenner that left one person dead Saturday afternoon on California's Pacific Coast Highway.

Detectives are working to obtain warrants to check to phone records of all the drivers involved in the crash, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials told The Wrap

The crash happened when an elderly woman in a Lexus collided with a Prius that had stopped on the road. Jenner was driving a Cadillac Escalade that was pulling a trailer when he struck that Lexus from behind, which pushed it head-on into a Hummer, according to the sheriff's department. The woman in the Lexus died at the scene.

After the crash, Jenner reportedly told deputies he was being followed by paparazzi, but sheriff's officials said paparazzi were not a factor in the accident.
