Bill Cosby canceled his stand-up comedy performances in Boston, as New England braces itself for another snowstorm. The comedian, who has been performing as many stand-up dates that haven't been canceled amidst allegations that he'd raped up to 15 women over the past several decades, said in a statement that he "Decided to cancel for your travel safety. No need to worry, I will be back soon to raise the roof with laughter.”
A group had planned to protest outside the theater if the performance were to go ahead as planned. Cosby has denied the rape allegations, and although he hasn't been charged, Los Angeles police have started to investigate the claims.
"We will STILL be gathering at 6:30 p.m. outside of The Wilbur in a show of SOLIDARITY with survivors who have come forward and those who have not, against Bill Cosby, his war against women and rape culture at large," the protest organizers wrote on the protest event page, after Cosby's performance had been canceled.

Previously in the day, at a news conference in Boston, a former fashion model (her most prominent work was a L'eggs pantyhose commercial from 1981) Helen Gumpel (previously known as Helen Selby) alleged that Cosby made inappropriate sexual advances and gestures to her, while on the set of The Cosby Show.
According to the Associated Press, Gumpel alleges that Cosby placed her on the couch in his dressing room, handed her a drink, and then stood in front of her with his crotch in her face. Many of Cosby's accusers have said that Cosby had slipped drugs into drinks before raping them.
