Even as much of the world turns against him, Bill Cosby’s real and fictional families are both standing firmly behind him.

After his wife Camille called him a “victim” and his on-screen daughter refused to cast judgment, Cosby’s TV wife Phylicia Rashad (AKA Claire Huxtable on The Cosby Show) has come out in defense of her longtime fake husband. Speaking with Showbiz 411, Rashad had the following to say about Cosby’s accusers:

“Forget these women. What you’re seeing is the destruction of a legacy. And I think it’s orchestrated. I don’t know why or who’s doing it, but it’s the legacy. And it’s a legacy that is so important to the culture…Someone is determined to keep Bill Cosby off TV. And it’s worked. All his contracts have been cancelled.”

Rashad also defended Camille Cosby, whom she described as “a tough woman, a smart woman” who would never have allowed her husband to assault women without consequence. “She’s no pushover,” Rashad said.

A massive anti-Cosby conspiracy on such a wide scale seems a little far-fetched, but who knows? At this point, pretty much anything with this situation is on the table.
