Miss Canada embodied more than a little Canadian spirit with her hockey-themed outfit during the 63rd annual Miss Universe Competition in Miami, Florida.

Chanel Beckenlehner, 26, wore a bedazzled red corset, donned with a black and white sequin maple leaf on her bodice when she stepped out at the preliminaries for the Miss Universe pageant. The sparkling top flowed into an outrageous open-front hockey net skirt revealing laced, skate inspired thigh-high boots.

The Caledon, Ontario native’s patriotic look only grew larger overhead. Beckenlehner sported ten hockey sticks peacocking from her back, and had a functioning scoreboard over the miniature Stanley Cup she wore on her head. With shoulder pads and a goalie’s stick in hand, Miss Canada had every aspect of hockey covered.

The bold outfit choice has gained the beauty contestant mixed reactions from around the world, and will undoubtedly impact her chance at winning the title of Miss Universe. The winner will be crowned at a ceremony on Sunday January 25 in Doral, Florida.
