Louis C.K. had a big day of announcing things in the world of Louis C.K. First came word that more the "more laugh-centric" Season 5 of his series Louie had a premiere date, then news that he was writing/directing a new series for one of his Louie co-stars.  That's not to mention his announcement of a record-setting Madison Square Garden show earlier this week.

Now we're getting word that a new stand-up special, Louis C.K. Live From The Comedy Story, is dropping very soon. The special will go up on Louisck.net shortly after those MSG shows, which end Jan. 27. Then it will air on FX some time this spring.

C.K. spoke at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour on Sunday to talk about all of it, and ended up telling the story of a Louie episode he had considered turning into a movie. The episode, based directly on an incident in his own childhood, features a young Louie stealing scales from his school's science class and trading them for weed. He gets caught, and deeply disappoints his science teacher mentor.

Today he called the incident “terrible” and “the worst he had ever felt,” but also viewed it as a compelling idea to explore on the big screen. But then he says, “I thought, ‘Don’t save this for a movie, because right now I’m playing for the Detroit Tigers. If you’re playing for a team, you don’t go, ‘Well, I’m going to save my best home runs for another team. The best ideas I have, I’m doing them now.'”

Adding,

“I had every advantage when I was a kid. I grew up in Newton, Mass. which is a nice town. I grew up in a working class part of it. And then I just got high. I had a working single mother. I f—ed her life up. I was a terrible kid. So I think I put it all in that show… I don’t think I did anything worse than that.”

It's a good thing for comedy that 13-year-olds are terrible
