Louis C.K. Announces Record-Setting Fourth Appearance at MSG in One Month

You've got one more chance to see C.K. this month in NYC.

In a humble email sent to Louis C.K. newsletter subscribers (the only newsletter this writer has kept a subscription to), the comedian announced a fourth show at Madison Square Garden for Tuesday, January 27. With his upcoming third MSG show (Saturday the 24th) close to selling out, C.K. wrote, "If you keep buying tickets, I have to keep doing the shows. Both of the shows that I've done there have been intensely fun."

What's humble about that? C.K. was already the first comedian able to sell out the mega-venue three times in the same month. Now by adding the fourth show, he might just break his own record. Tickets are $25, $45 or $65 flat -- none of those shitty hidden Ticketmaster fees. Maybe that's the secret to repeat MSG sellouts: remove the asinine "convenience fee" for fans. (It's already pretty convenient that the Garden's schedule has been so empty this January.) So if any of the other C.K. dates weren't convenient for your New York ass, maybe the 27th will be?

And if you are able to go, what can you expect from (perhaps) this generation's best stand up comedian? According to The New York Times, who reviewed C.K.'s first Garden show of 2015, lots of animal jokes are mixed in with the C.K. longform vents on child-raising, divorce, sex, and White Male American absurdities.

He did bits on his relationship with dogs and bats along with his prurient interest in rats. His impressions of them are done with full-bodied gusto and a grotesque physicality. These aren’t Disney animals, but the comedian does appear sunnier than ever. [via The New York Times]
