“That motherf*cker did it.”
So says Larry Wilmore, who came out on episode two of The Nightly Show ready to discuss the 35 sexual assault allegations (and counting) against Bill Cosby. The new host reminded viewers that the accusations against Cosby were as if he “drugged and raped every U.S. President from George Washington to John. F Kennedy,” including poor Grover Cleveland twice. He also skewered Cosby’s reaction to a recent Canadian heckler, asking if Cosby’s response of “stop it…shh…shh,” was an attempt at a takedown or just his version of pillow talk.
Along with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at the Golden Globes, Wilmore put himself at the front of the line for people to start going in on Cosby on TV. In terms of political incorrectness (Chip Hitler, anyone?), it’s tough to see anyone saying anything much far beyond where this segment dared to go.
