The man accused of killing three family members and hospitalizing another was found dead by NYPD officers yesterday, the victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to the New York Times, police discovered the body of Jonathon Walker, 34, inside of his car near JFK International Airport yesterday. Walker reportedly shot himself in the head hours after returning to his Brookville home and fatally shot his girlfriend, 31-year-old Shantai Hale; her mother, 62-year-old Viola Warren; and Kayla Walker, the couple's 7-year-old daughter. Walker also shot the their 12-year-old daughter, Christina, who managed to call 911 despite sustaining a bullet to the head.
Family remains shocked by the tragedy. "We will be baffled for years to come," Warren's uncle, Wendell Warren, told the Times.
Authorities told the Times that Christina Walker is in critical but stable condition at Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
