Johnny Depp's "Mortdecai" Is Already Bombing Hard

This is his third flop in a row.

Johnny Depp's latest effort as a weirdo, this time as a British aristocrat/sus art dealer, isn't going too well. Projections are already bleak for Mortdecai, which might struggle to even reach $7 million at the box office in its opening weekend. The critically panned film cost $60 million to make.

Meanwhile, American Sniper continues to thrive. The über patriotic, controversial film is projected to pull in as much as $55 million after a record-breaking opening weekend.

For Depp Mortdecai marks his third strike in a row. His last two major films, Transcendence and The Lone Ranger, were also box office busts. These well-publicized slip ups are beginning to hurt Depp in the wallet, as THR reports his upfront fee has dropped from more than $20 million to the $6 million to $8 million range.

At least Depp got to touch Olivia Munn's boob, though.
