When was the last time “more of basically the same” sounded this good?
John Oliver will return to the Last Week Tonight desk on February 8 following a very successful first season run. While some shows go all “Season 2 of The Wire” and completely change things up despite their basically perfect debut, don’t expect Oliver to do any of that.
Instead, in this first promo he promises nothing but the same: the same “Lego Man” haircut, the same glasses, the same desk…basically, as he puts it, “no improvements.” If it yields more animal Supreme Court justices and salmon cannons, there's no way this won't be a good thing.
