James Marsden is Cool With Being Replaced in "X-Men: Apocalypse"

Ahh, the plight of the X-Men actor. You get a great part, only to be replaced by an older or younger actor due to a jump in time in the franchise. James Marsden, who played Cyclops in X-Men, X-Men 2, X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past. The latest movie will take place in the 1980s, so of course there will need to be a slew of younger actors to play our favorite mutants.

Tye Sheridan (MudTree of Life) will take over as Cyclops in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. Marsden is at Sundance right now promoting his movie D-Train, but he took a moment to admit that Sheridan will do a great job in his role.

"I think he's a wonderfully talented actor who blew me away in Mud," he said. "I've never seen a kid that young be that present and that powerful. So, I think he's a perfect fit and I congratulate him."

X-Men: Apocalypse also stars Jennifer LawrenceEvan Peters and Oscar Isaac (so far). It comes out May 27, 2016.
