One of the great life hacks for traveling is known as "hidden city" ticketing. In order to pay less money, you can buy a plane ticket with a layover in the city you're actually going to. Once you arrive you just bail on the second flight. As genius as it is, it's difficult to find the right ticket. That's why 22-year-old Aktarer Zaman created skiplagged.com

His site was so good at finding "hidden city" tickets that United Airlines and Orbitz have filed a lawsuit against him. The two companies say his site is "unfair competition" and that Zaman owes them $75,000 in lost revenue.

Zaman maintains he's done nothing wrong. He said he hasn't made any money from the site, which he merely calls a side project, and that he's only helped expose an "inefficiency" in the way airlines do business. But even if a judge agrees with him, he could end up losing a lot of money in lawyer fees.

What an expensive side project. Whatever his main hustle is, it better be doing well.
