The Sony hacking saga just got a little scarier. No, not because North Korea is responsible—It was just confirmed that it was not involved—but because the hackers actually responsible have gone way past leaking Sony employees’ complaints about Adam Sandler by threatening employees.
Variety reported that an email from the GOP, Guardians of Peace, that is, said:
“Please sign your name to object the false (sic) of the company at the email address below if you don’t want to suffer damage. If you don’t, not only you but your family will be in danger.”
Immediately after Sony employees were told to turn off their devices after getting the message. A spokesman for Sony said, “We are aware of the situation and are working with law enforcement.”
