Apparently, the Saved by the Bell: The Unauthorized Story did not initiate the type of career revival Dustin Diamond was hoping for.
The former Samuel “Screech” Powers was arrested last night in Port Washington, Wis. after an argument quickly escalated into Diamond stabbing a guy with a switchblade. The above video shows Diamond in the moments before “The Stabbening,” coiled like some sort of menacing serpent, seemingly poised to strike.
While it’s unclear what the argument was actually about, it seems like Diamond knew he was in trouble immediately after the shanking. He and his female companion quickly left the bar, but cops were able to track down the duo and book Diamond for carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a switchblade knife, and first degree recklessly endangering safety.
Screech has really gone out of his way to project a tough guy persona in his post-Saved by the Bell days, appearing on shows like Celebrity Boxing 2 and Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling. With this escalation into full-blown stabbing, his overcompensation has obviously hit a new level.
The victim is already at home recovering, so fortunately Diamond’s stabbing technique is about as good as his acting.
