It’s official: the world’s coolest grandmother has been found.
As for the premiere episode of their cooking series “Bong Appetit,” Vice traveled to California and took a cooking lesson with 91-year-old Aurora Leveroni, known to the world (apparently) as “Nonna Marijuana.” Using an innovative technique to infuse butter with marijuana, Leveroni makes all kinds of different delicious Italian dishes that will also get you properly high.
She does this because, as she says, “it helps those who have been ill and had to endure pain, and I will use [marijuana] if it helps anyone.” But who deals weed to a 91-year-old grandma?
That would be her daughter Valerie Corral. She runs the Wo/Men's Alliance for Medical Marijuana, which grows medical marijuana and dispenses it for free to volunteers in exchange for their work. What a perfect system.
