Alarming video footage has emerged of a man attacking staff members at a Minnesota hospital. Sadly, the man died following a confrontation with police.

The video, which was shared by the Maplewood Police Department, shows 68-year-old Charles Emmett Logan attacking nurses at St. John's Hospital with a metal pole last Sunday. KARE 11 reports that four nurses were injured, and NBC News adds that one suffered a fractured wrist, while another was left with a collapsed lung.

Logan reportedly fled the hospital, traveling three blocks before officers confronted him. His refusal to drop the pole prompted them to use a Taser on Logan, but not even that could stop him. A trio of officers managed to tackle him, but he lost consciousness during the struggle and was later pronounced dead at St. John's.

According to hospital officials, Logan was experiencing bouts of paranoia and had an argument with family members prior to the incident. Maplewood Police Chief Paul Schnell told the St. Paul Pioneer Press that Logan's episode was "very out of character."

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine an official cause of death.
