Unarmed Brooklyn Man Shot and Killed by NYPD

The NYPD shot and killed an unarmed man in Brooklyn last night, officials say. 

CBS New York reports that the incident took place inside of East New York's Pink Houses just after 11 p.m. According to CBS New York, two officers in the midst of a "vertical patrol" were walking down a dim stairwell when they came across the unidentified 28-year-old man. It's still unclear exactly what transpired, but an officer reportedly shot the man once in his chest. 

He was later pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital, and the NYPD is reviewing the incident.
