Authorities in Washington have confirmed that a woman's murder is, in fact, connected to a post made on 4chan earlier this week.
The body of 30-year-old Amber Lynn Coplin was discovered in Port Orchard, Wash. on Tuesday afternoon by her teenage son. About an hour before, a confession was posted to the forum:
Check the news for Port Orchard Washington in a few hours. Her son will be home from school soon. He'll find her, then call the cops. I just wanted to share the pics before they find me. I bought a BB gun that looks realistic enough. When they come, I'll pull it and it will be suicide by cop. I understand the doubts. Just check the fucking news. I have to lose my phone now.
Kitsap County Sheriff's Office Deputy Scott Wilson told KING 5 that Coplin's murder was not a "random assault," suspecting the involvement of her 33-year-old boyfriend, David Michael Kalac. NBC News reports that Kalac, who was on the run from police in Coplin's vehicle, surrendered to authorities in Wilsonville, Ore. last night.
Kalac currently faces a second-degree murder charge.
