Jon Stewart’s directorial debut Rosewater is being released nationwide today, so naturally last night’s episode of The Daily Show was used to promote the movie. As you might expect, though, it would be a little weird for Stewart to conduct the interviews himself, so they brought in a replacement: John Oliver.

The Last Week Tonight host stepped in to help “take one more spin in the non-premium cable host chair,” as he put it. And while Oliver seemingly may have let the power get to his head, he got put right back in his place by Maziar Bahari, the man about whom Rosewater is based.

“You’re welcome,” Bahari said to Oliver. “If it was not for my arrest, Jon would not make a film, you would not host the show, and you would not have your show now. So, you’re welcome.”

Boom. Roasted.
