One Jersey City construction worker died in a Final Destination-like way today after being struck in the head by a falling tape measure. Reawakening the very real fear of being impaled by a falling fire escape.
The 50-year-old man, whose identity is unknown, was reportedly not wearing a hardhat when the tape measure fell 50 stories. Police said the tape measure fell, then bounced off some equipment at the site before striking him.
The man died at the hospital.
