Republicans are riding high on the strength of the GOP's big Tuesday night win, but a fellow Republican who called into C-Span's "Washington Journal" this morning warned them to temper their excitement. He then proceeded to refer to President Obama as a "nigger." On the air. With no pause or remorse.

According to Talking Points Memo, the man, who identified himself as "Anthony" from San Diego, urged Republicans to tread lightly for the moment before delivering a blow of racism from left field:

I would just like to say, that the Republicans -- and I'm a Republican -- please do not overreach, the caller began. I know they're going to overreach but I'm telling you, if you advocate for the repeal of Obamacare and you get too extreme, then Hillary Clinton will be elected President in 2016.

This is about race, he added. The Republicans hate that nigger Obama.

Although he was clearly caught off-guard, host Steve Scully bailed on the call in favor of another one in smooth fashion. As "Anthony" notes (and exhibits), this is about race, as some people are still mad about the 2008 and 2012 elections, and scared of the future to a fault. That, and some people are just fucking racist.

It would be interesting to see what dramatic element Aaron Sorkin could potentially add to this incident, but, alas, that won't be happening, as The Newsroom's final season begins this Sunday.
