The self-described "Jewish Matthew McConaughey," a.k.a. Adam Pally is saying goodbye to The Mindy Project. The Happy Endings alum was promoted to series regular just last season. He'll just be an occasional guest star after episode thirteen of season three.

TVLine reports that there's nothing afoul—this was always when Dr. Peter Prentice was set to exit Shulman & Associates. Pally has just signed a two-year contract with ABC (where he starred on Happy Endings) with his production company Clone Wolf Productions. FOX just added six episodes to its season order of The Mindy Project, so hopefully we haven't seen the last of him just yet.
