The St. Louis County Police Department says that there were 61 arrests last night following the massive protesting and unrest in Ferguson, Mo. in response to the decision not to indict police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown.

Charges included unlawful assembly, arson, and burglary as huge crowds assembled across the city (and, indeed, the country). While the great majority of the protestors obeyed the law and were very respectful, there were a few who chose to loot, destroy, and set fire to property around the city and cause a disproportionate amount of damage.

The tear gas and flash-bangs deployed by police did little to settle things down, either.
