Most people don't remember that Sarah Silverman was a featured player on Saturday Night Live in the early '90s. It was a one-year stint that saw her barely appear on the show before she was fired. Via fax.
But what better way to say suck it to the people who fired you than to return 20 years later as the host, which generally means you're doing way better than people who actually work on the show.
Also, when you come back, take credit for basically every classic sketch ever. Because you're goddamn Sarah Silverman and why not?
Along with Taran Killam, Silverman does just that, plus makes fun of NYC bums, terrible SNL characters (table girl, anyone?) and the "Michael Jackson scream."
The episode, with Maroon 5 as musical guest, airs Saturday at 11:30 p.m on NBC.
