John Cleese of Monty Python fame learned recently that one does not simply insult Taylor Swift’s cat.
The two were appearing on The Graham Norton Show in the UK, and after Norton showed pictures of Swift’s cat Olivia Benson, Cleese turned to Swift and solemnly asked “How did it have the accident?” Swift’s reaction was probably what you’d imagine would happen if you asked a woman who was overweight “When is the baby due?”
Cleese quickly outdid himself, however, exclaiming “Is that a proper cat? That's the weirdest cat I've ever seen in my life.” Fortunately, Norton was all over this one and quickly defused the situation by showing a picture of Cleese’s cat, which was equally strange-looking.
There wasn’t a whole lot he could do to save his guest, however, when Cleese suggested that both cats and women were “unpredictable and cussed.” Swift again seemed kind of surprised and bemused, oddly unable to "shake it off."
